Having read through posts on several boards over the past few weeks, I was struck by the observations of three posters. I don't remember their names, or the dates they posted, or even which boards. So my apologies to the posters for not being able to give them the credit they deserve.
Poster #1 mentioned that there had been a casting call for a Spike-look-alike.
Poster #2 recalled that NB had stated in an Australian interview that Spike would come back with an "extension."
Poster #3 picked up on the how the demon restated Spike's request to be changed back to "as you were before." This third poster suggested that Spike previously had been two things: a human (William) and a vampire (Spike). So, literally, Spike could come back as two individuals. One played by JM, the other by a Spike-look-alike.
Last, AnGelX has not yet confirmed a source who says that the finale shows Spike walking out of the cave into the sunlight, mirroring the scene of Buffy and Dawn walking out of a pit into the sunlight.
If ME brings back two separate beings, it could be a riot contrasting a sweet, lovesick poet against a scorned vampire. I can just envision Spike rolling his eyes over the antics of William. And, picture William looking down his nose at Spike. It would be a nice touch for him to be able to walk about in the sunshine.
These three posters, and possibly AnGelX's source, seem to be in line with the theme for next season, at least as far as Spike is concerned. Hmmm...."Back to the beginning."
Thoughts? Any one able to take credit for being one of the three posters or AnGelX's source?
