AM Update - Final Location Shoot
Smacks Himself In The Forehead

Every once in a while, you get a bit of spoilage that makes you realize that you should have been looking for this scene all along. Last night's location shoot was one of these...

I'm including both the links to the thread at the Kitten Board (BBOvenGuy, Tenetria, and GloomCookie) and at the http://www.voy.com/13746/127093.htmlCross and Stake (GrrrlArgh). The segment below is from GrrrlArgh's report, which had the most information.

OK. For those of you who know me, you'll all get a gigantic kick from what I'm about to disclose.

As you've probably heard from Gloomcookie, it was Clem night. That's right, folks. The founder of the Society for Kindness to Clem managed to, on her second night in town, stumble onto her first location shoot the very night one Mr. James Leary has his one and only location shoot. (at least I *think* it was the one and only.)

However, I was the only person (along with my steadfast father, who accompanied me) who finagled her way into the actual shoot. Between my feminine wiles, and status as aspiring production assistant, the security guys and PAs were very welcoming to me. (BBOvenGuy, I was so surprised not to see you-- I can't believe they didn't let you in.) The guys let me go all the way up to the action in the street, so I heard some of the dialogue while I watched for about 45 minutes.

Clem and Dawn walk down a downtown-ish, crummy street. I missed the first traveling shot while they walked down the street, but when I arrived around 9, they were shooting close-ups for a conversation between the two when they stop walking. I didn't get my hands on a shooting script or anything, but (from what I could hear and remember) the dialogue went vaguely like this:

Dawn: I am NOT a little girl.
Clem: Oh! Sorry! Of course you're not little. Not at all. But you'redefinitely... you have the parts.

The next section of dialogue was very difficult to hear. I felt that they were doing it very quietly on purpose. Like it was spoilage we should not know. Dawn, from what I could tell, wanted to be there on the street. Clem, on the other hand, was unhappy that they were there, because he had promised to keep her safe, and he didn't think being out in the open would keep her safe. I caught the words "If you haven't noticed..." from him, before the whispering came back. They were definitely whispering as though what they were talking about was supposed to be kept quiet. At the end of this shot, Dawn gets angry at Clem and seems to ask if he's "in or out?!" and Clem yells "I'm in!!" And that was the point where the security guards' boss told us to move back.

To me, it seemed that Clem was doing his best to protect her, while being as pleasant as possible during this difficult situation. He doesn't seem to be evil or anything, just the same Clem while dealing with the chaos that has taken over the SG.

Sadly, as it was Michelle's shooting day and she is a minor, they had to rush. Some of the security guards and PAs tried to get to James Leary before he left to tell him he should come meet me, but they didn't make it in time. *sigh* I guess that means that someday while I'm directing him I won't have to admit I once asked him for an autograph. : )

Michelle was very giddy onset, and James was very pleasant (not unlike Clem) and everyone was hugging each other, since this was the last shoot of the year. It was the second unit, so no one else of note was around.

Happy to answer your questions, but will be in and out checking the board over the next day.
The reason I'm mad at myself for not expecting this, is that it makes total sense. The only one who's actually been to Rack's (besides Willow and Amy), was Dawn. It makes the entire Willow/Dawn trip to Rack's in 'Wrecked' (which if you'll remember, had me a bit annoyed with it's none-to-subtle analogy to drug abuse). The entire arc makes a bit more sense, if Dawn is indeed trying to track down Rack for one reason or the other. Remember, even Spike and Buffy couldn't find it when they went looking. Which brings up a disturbing question. If only those attuned to the 'Big Bad', as Spike put it, can sense Rack's, then does this not bode well for Clem's intentions? Alternately, if Spike couldn't detect it for one reason or another, is this another hint to his current motivations or state of mind?
