Ok, i've read the Wanda interview twice and I don't get "bitter". Maybe p***** off that people keep refering back to BtVS. I know that's where he came from but it's been 3 years folks, longer than he was on BtVS. It's obviously not the sort of show he would watch judging by the other shows he said he did watch. Does SMG get asked if she watches AtS? As for not socialising, he's made it clear on several occasions that he goes to work, does his job and leaves it there. Gasp, he has a life outside of work. I get on with all my work collegues and I got on with all my collegues at my last job but I don't socialise with any of them.
In interviews he doesn't come out with any mind blowing insights, true, but I think to say he's dumb is mean. I get the impression that he doesn't like doing interviews and is quite guarded, esp considering how he's got blasted for interviews in the past. Also, he's said himself that he's pretty exhusted; he's just finished working 18hrs a day on the series, has been doing interviews all over the place and is just about to become a father for the first time. I'm sure he'd rather be at home.
I don't get the "he's not a very good actor" thing at all. I absolutly think the opposite. One of the facinations of his character for me is that he's gone through pretty much the whole range as an actor in one part. From loving and kind to truely evil and all points inbetween, sometimes in the space of one ep. The character of Angel facinates me and while part of that is due to the writing/direction it is also very much down to DB's portrayal. He makes me "feel" what's going on with the character, makes me "know" the character in ways that none of the other characters do. (no slight to any of the other actors intended).
I find it interesting that DB and the character Angel tend to polarise opinion in a way that I don't think anyone else in Whendonverse does. Not sure why that is.
