I haven't seen the episode yet, being a left coaster, but I have always thought Spike was a manipulative bastard. When everyone else was talking about his great insights into Buffy's character, i thought eh was manipluating her in order to get her away from her friends and into his arms. I don't think he ever loved her, though I think he cared about her. SSo does sleeping with a friend of buffy's and attemtping to rape ehr make sense? It sure follows to me once Buffy finally rejected him.

Its what they are doing to Willow that doesn't make sense to me.
