Don't forget the infamous "Perm Training" where UBF women are "asked" to go have their hair permed at the local Korean salon. Sometimes this is done while they are having training before a performance, or just out of the blue. Both are seen as a sign of submission to authority which represents a humbleness before God and a casting away of "women's cursed desire" (to cook men and look beautiful).

Hmmm. Reminds me of some of the United Pentecostal Churches which dictate that women should never cut their hair, wear make-up or wear anything above the knee. Of course they cloud everything in spiritual jargon, and claim that this is the only right way for a women to live before God. But the real reason is to set a subtle but strong control over the women, and to begin to take away the ability for them to make their own decisions.

Sometimes Samuel Lee will ask for a women's hair to be permed, take one look at it, and casually decide she should go back and get it straightened. Now lets face it
people- thats just too much. I heard that even men used to get perm training. Imagine a Korean guy walking around with a permed afro! :) Humbling indeed.

I don't have to imagine men having perms-- I've seen it done numerous times under Samuel Lee's direction!
