Earth reaches and meets the water.
Her delicate hand rested upon the cheek of her adopted mother.
If expression, emotion, and speech was bestowed upon her, the child might had said as comfort,
“Its alright, Mommy. It’s not your fault. Everything will be ok now that we are together again.”
But no such words could be uttered. And no expression existed to show this either.
Her touch was all she could give, but there was no love or comfort in it.
Such a curse would drive the bravest mad. But without feeling anything, how could that be so with her? Even her thoughts were black and white. Not even colored in shades of gray.
Slowly the child’s hand went limp and was drawn from water’s face.
Earth was dry and barren. Water couldn’t even heal it.
Her chest rose and fell with a soft sigh that meant nothing.
And it never will.
Till her bell rings.
