A light fae was sitting in the branches of an old tree, trying to pull an arrow out of her side and stop the silver and crimson blood flowing down her shins, when she saw that fire-beast overhead. Before she knew what was occurring, the tree caught on fire as well as the ground below her. Fighting down her panic, the maiden tore the bottom off her once white dress and covered her mouth with it so she wouldn't breathe in too much smoke. Despite the arrow sticking out of her right side she gracefully leaped from branch to branch and toward the smoldering ground. Her eyes watered and smoke blinded her. Blindly she leaped from the tree onto the ground and in the middle of a circle of fire. Wiping her eyes she looked around and sighed toward the heavens. "This just isn't my day is it!!!" She counted to three and took a deep breath with a prayer and ran through the flames and to safety. Still running for the water ahead, she wished she were water faerie like her mother. Splash! She jumped into the water and extinguished the flames on her then crawled out into the swallows and blacked out.
