The earth farie smiled wistfully at the forest surrounding him. It was beautiful, no, that was an understatement. The trees were breathtaking, their emerald leaves flickering as the sunlight beamed down on them. His steps lightened on the soft blades of grass and in the distance he smelled water. With a content sigh, he sat down upon a rather convenient boulder. A warm breeze toyed with his long, dark green hair and he smiled. Taking the lute case from its case, he began to play. Then, quietly, began to sing. "Oft in the stilly night, ere slumber's chain has bound me, fond memory brings the light of other days around me: the smiles, the tears of boyhood's years the words of love then spoken; the eyes that shone now dimm'd and gone, the cheerful homes now broken..."
