Subject: Looking for a J-V to build a Tilapia farm in Panama

Hi,

I'm looking for a partner to join us in the investment and operation of a new Tilapia fish farm in Panama

Project location:
The project will be located some 40 km East of Panama City and the International airport of Tokumen. The water source for the project is Rio Bayano, a clean river originating from Lago de Bayano, a nature reserve and a protected water body.

Technical Description of the Project:
The project will include a self-sufficient and independent production system, capable of producing and marketing on a year-round basis, exporting fresh products on daily basis. The production line will include Broodstock and Spawning ponds, Nursery ponds, Growout ponds and a Processing Plant.

Project capacity:
The project production capacity is conservatively estimated to be 1200 ton live fish per year, resulting in 67 ton of whole fish per month, equivalent to 40 ton of skinless, boneless fillets per month.

Type of Tilapia and Broodstock:
The project will own parental stock of the genetically improved Oreochromis sp (Tilapia) strain known as “ND-21” silver Tilapia.

The main product:
Super trimmed skinless and boneless Tilapia fillet, 5-7 oz. per fillet. All products will be exported FRESH, taking advantage of the proximity of the Processing Plant to the International airport, and the frequent airlines to various USA cities.

The Capital Investment: US $4,000,000

Time Table:
The projected timetable envisages an inter-related process of design, equipment requisition and construction. The time estimated between Initiation of engineering and land preparation, and until the first group of fish is ready for processing and marketing is 92 weeks.
