跑第三名的「信賴」之騎師戴勝承認一項未有力策坐騎至終點、表現未能令小組滿意的指控。

考慮了此宗事件的有關情況，小組判罰戴勝停賽（十個香港賽馬日）直至三月二日星期日才可再次出賽。

此項停賽罰則於一月二十四日星期四開始執行，即戴勝於第三場(贏馬組合)不小心策騎停賽罰則完畢後可恢復策騎出賽當天執行。

被查詢時，戴勝（「信賴」）解釋，進入對面直路後，他移離內欄試圖望空。他說，趨近二百五十米處，「瀟灑財星」與「卓暉」之間開始出現空位，此時「天鷹」移離內欄試圖在「前衛勇士」與「卓暉」之間取位。

他說，「天鷹」若要望空，就會與「卓暉」互相觸碰，將其帶出更外疊。因此他覺得他會在「卓暉」與「瀟灑財星」之間無路可上，因而在一段短途程上沒有繼續跑向該空位。他說，二百米處前，他移至「卓暉」外側，開始跑向該駒外側的空位，但過了二百米處在「瀟灑財星」與「卓暉」之間一度處於窘境，當時「卓暉」被「天鷹」帶出更外疊。考慮了有關情況，小組告誡戴勝，必須確保把握任何機會上前，尤其是在賽事的關鍵階段。
