Only a few days had passed since he had been sentanced and it was the first chance he had been given to call her... With shouts and taunts from other inmates in the background, he tucked the phone between his ear and shoulder and leaned against the wall - eyes lightly shut, praying that she'd answer.

He needed to see her too but he couldn't very well leave, and that last thing he wanted was for her to visit him - not in a place like that, it was dark and dank, and crude, loud, obscene.
