Can I help with the attack on the Christian God?

Anyway, you are right. It is self-rightious twaddle. "Christians live in a forgiven state", as if non-Christians don't because they can't put their faith in a book, or because they find the idea of a demi-god funny.

If God wanted to forgive, why kill an innocent? Just forgive. According to Christian doctrine, we are supposed to forgive just for the sake of forgiveness - Christians aren't encouraged to emulate God and ask for sacrifices when someone wrongs them. If God expects man just to "turn the other cheek" one should expect him to do the same, and forgive just for the sake of forgiving.

But no. A religion must be exclusionary, so their god must also make a choice between the "chosen" and the "damned".

I don't need to live in a "forgiven" state because I take responsibility for my life. If there is a God who wishes to judge me, then let him judge me by my works. If I am not good enough for Him, then He is not good enough for me. We are all One. I am God. God is Me. And God is You, the reader. There is no separation.
