Well, I am at work right now, and don't have access to my library, so I will have to answer that later this evening. Basically, modern scholars have compared sentence structure, word use, and other forms of document comparison, and have found four different authors.

One "proof" is that the oldest known extant version of the Gospel of John is much shorter than the present version. Things were added to it over the years, and by looking at how the various versions of that Gospel changed over time, and the geographical locations where those changes were made, they have conclusively proven that more than one person wrote John. Also, "John" stole a lot of his sayings from a rival religion. Mithraic texts that predate John have Mithra saying, "I am the Light and the Way."

As for Revelations - The authorship of that book has been in doubt since it was introduced. It was in so much doubt it almost didn't make it into the canon. The way it is structured is completely different than the Gospel. Further, the words "I am the Alpha and the Omega" do not exist in any edition of the book prior to the King James version (since the book was originally written in Greek, why would scholars have translated the entire sentence except for those two words?).

Anyway, I will post some more authoritative proof later when I have access to my library.
