The old adage, "We hurt the ones we love" is a bit of a truism because the ones we love are the only ones likely to be hurt by us because they are the only ones likely to care. The flip side of this is that when we are feeling down on ourselves, we like to make others feel bad too. Easy targets are the people who love us, for we can hurt them the most. Not only that, but they are near us, easy targets.

I never get "pissed off" at people I love, and I don't think they usually do with me, either. Such animosity can come from two different living styles not meshing, or it can come from two people who were never meant to be together being together and hating it. When we seek to hurt others or "piss them off..." it really only points at a marked lack of happiness within ourselves. If you address these real problems, you are likely to go beyond the slightly less important things that are upsetting you.
