Subject: Re: Do we need religion? Do we need science

I do not believe in god or anything of the sort, yet religion is useful and science has created a lot of ever.
Science has created pollution (the technology to create polution) and will eventually destroy the earth via antimatter bomb currently being made by the u.s.a. (trust me the power is amazing - something the size of a pea of antimatter has enough energy to launch the space shuttle into orbit 23 times and a few pounds of it would probably destroy the earth)

Religion has brought death, war, hatred, controvercy, like science. Many people still look towards religion as a way of escaping from the real world with belief. This gives them mental stability. I am all for science, and it just so happens that I am often depressed that I have no real meaning in life (while religios people might say that their meaning is to serve god). I dont believe in god, but religion is needed in society. Without science, the religios people would be all happy with their horse and buggiesi and wood burning, but the ones who want something more who refute the existance of god would want to live in an easier society.

They both depend on each other to create stability. Its like a bridge with 2 leggs. One side is religion, one is science. Everyone is on one of the sides or the middle, whatever. If one of the legs is whiped out by the opposing side, everyone is screwed. That is why we need both.
