Sure, there is some basis - but it falls into the category of the conspiracy buffs.

There are no direct letters or orders from Hitler that have been found that say,"Hey! Let's kill all the Jews." But, there are lots of references to th Final Solution.

They like to point out the doors at teh gas chambers at Auschwitz don't lock. That's true, but only becuase the real, locking doors are in a museum someplace else.

They also point out the gas chambers at Auschwitz show little residue from the gas when you subject them to testing. That's true, but they are reconstructed from th plans that were found becaue the Allied forces blew them up when they came through. They are re-built from origianl blocks on the site.

BTW - I reviewed the book on this site to get a little constructuve conversation going, rather than name-calling, etc.
