I think you have some good and quite radical ideas there. (I personally don't think they are radical, but when faced with the overwhelming tradition and bureacracy that you no doubt face, any change seems radical.) I particularly like the trade school ideas, mostly because I have begun to think about this for myself and wonder if I might not have been really interested in school, if there had been classes for "tinkerers" like me. (Currently I am planning to enroll at Ivy Tech for an Electrician's License.

Child molesting is a no brainer. Why don't they have these laws now? Good question, Mark... :)

I also feel that you idea for minimum age is a good one. Unfortunately there are a bunch of do-gooders out there who feel that sitting in a classroom is still going to do a kid good, through association or something, I guess. But you are absolutely right. I was one of those kids (at least to a certain degree).
