Well, the Bloch book I am reading, as an intro to another one of the stories, suggested one of Lovecraft's correspondents/ and I think author of a story Lovecraft revised, William Lumley, was one of the first if not the first to believe it was all "real."

I am trying to get a complete collection of the writings of those within the extended family of the first generation of the Lovecraft mythos -- hence, why I got the Bloch. It's good that Chaosium is putting together many volumes like this, to help collect stories which were otherwise lost.
