France would also be against any action for the simple reason that we are for it. Since WWII France has traditionally taken on the role of "Friendly" opposition to the United States in NATO and the UN. They have been the Republicans to our Democrats (or vice versa if you prefer.) Just as we often complain about the French and their "snootiness", they complain about us and our influence and power.
