Your observations are also the basis for the skepticism with all of the "recovered" memories of physical abuse, sexual abuse and/or ritual abuse (satanic or otherwise) that some psychotherapists claim to discover while they have their patients under hypnosis. Critics claim that they've been implanted - either on purpose or accidentally.
