It occurred to me that power only exists because it is used. For example, with your little ones. If you only let Vincent do the discipline, you have ceded all of the power that your position as mom entails. Its not that you can't discipline them - everyone wants moms to discipline their children. But, if you never do it, the boys will soon learn to walk all over you because you won't do anything, no because you can't. And, if you try to reassert your power they won't take it seriously for a good while. Power has to be recognized by those being ruled, and if the power isn't used those being ruled won't recognize it as legitimate. Make sense?

Just some off the cuff thoughts.
