I fully agree. As a Pentecostal, I fear that "my kind" has erred on the side of fanaticism. What I like about Pentecostalism is the FREEDOM to worship God however one chooses. I am personally pretty low on the hyper-Pentecostal scale. (I haven't jumped over a pew yet! Nor, have I ever been to a snake handling service!!!)

As for the previous quote in the Gospel of Matthew, you are taking that a little out of context. There is a difference in private prayer and corporate worship. Look at King David's response in worship when the Ark was brought back to Jerusalem. 2 Samuel 6:13-15.

I am not going to put God in a box and say that my way of worship is the only way. I apologize to Mountaineer if I came across as spiritually arrogant.

QUESTION: Do you consider yourself traditional Lutheran, or is your denomination influences by the Lutheran Reform or Pietist movement?

(We discussed Pietism yesterday in class, just curious)
