Yes, I believe you did. And here I come. Let's see if I can walk on eggshells here. Design? Ain't no design. There is only evolution. Design is a figment of the human imagination - an illusion. If you don't understand what I am saying, look into Darwin's theory again.

What makes you so certain that there was a beginning of the universe? The concept of the nothing that precedes existence is just as unfathomable as the concept of infinity. Therefore, the decision to believe in one or the other is fairly arbitrary. Even if there were a beginning, there is no reason to believe that there was any intelligence involved. When you consider the random process of evolution, this becomes very clear. This beginning could have been purely generative, with no intent, no intelligence, what-so-ever. But, like I said, my brain (and the human brain in general) is not equipped to deal with such "concepts" as nothingness or infinity (or square circle) and so it is really not worth contemplating. These things are beyond the scope of human knowledge (unless science proves me wrong some day.)
