As for taxes, here is my argument:

As citizens of a state, or society, we must understand that the welfare of the many outweighs the welfare of the few. When we increase the quality of life for many people, we make ourselves stronger as a whole. Our society will prosper greatly the more people are happy and provided for. Therefore, it should be every man's moral and civic duty to ensure the well being of all his fellow men, if he desires to see his state continue and thrive. This means that the wealthy should feel a duty and necessity to provide for those less fortunate. By so doing, he increases his own chances of continuing, and the chances of the State of which he is a member.

When a state is run by greed and a few select wealthy men who do not have the interest of the people in their hearts, the state will fail. And, by default, so will wealthy men.
