Author: Mt. Healthy Mountaineer
Subject: ANHOW Review of Books: Suspicion of Guilt by Barbara Parker

Published: 1996 by Signet Fiction

Synopsis:

Big shot Miami attorney Gail Conner is asked by a friend to take his case - he asserts that his recently deceased millionare aunt's will has been forged and he has been ripped off for about 25 million dollars. Conner looks into it and lo and behold there seems to be a lot of foul play afoot and witnesses start to die. Hijinks ensue and a romance struggles along as well (no - not with the client - that would be unethical and cliche).

My review:

This book is the little book that could. I picked it up from my famous pile o'books that I got from the used book store (I was a part-time employee and they let me take as many as I wanted when the store closed 6 years ago - I filled my trunk) and I read it because it was on top of the pile. At first I wasn't all that interested but somehow the book kept me reading to figure out who messed with the old lady's will. It wasn't great fiction, but it kept me turning the pages. Unfortunately, I figured out whodunnit long before the end, but it still was gratifying to think, "Ah-hah! I knew it!"

I give this book a "B"
