Subject: ANHOW Review of Books: "Cast in Stone" by G.M. Ford

Genre: Private Eye
Published: 1996 by Avon Books

This is the 2nd G.M. Ford book I have reviewed (Here is a link to the first: click right here). This is a better novel than the first. In fact, it has one of the more ingenious plot twists at the end that I've read in quite a while.

The story features P.I. Leo Waterman investigating the mysterious fatal boating accident involving an old friend's son and daughter-in-law. But, did the daughter-in-law actually die? If she did, who cleaned out the bank accounts hours after the accident?

Waterman is on the case, along with his odd collection of friends from the previous novel, as well as a couple of memorable new ones.

This is a good detective yarn - the only problem is one that was also present in the previous book (see other review) - he fails to remind the reader who the characters are when they re-appear 100 pages later (and Waterman meets a lot of people!) Despite that annoyance, I give the book an "A"
