If I resigned every chess game I was losing, I would never get a chance to see a masterful end-game played. I think the educational opportunity lost by forfeiting is shameful. It is like saying, "You are the master, and have beaten me, but I can learn nothing more from you in this game." I think that is insulting.

Perhaps, Mark, you don't feel you have anything more to learn in chess or other logical games, but I do. I appreciate seeing it to the end. I learn a lot, whether winning or losing, by seeing it through to the end. Thus it would be poor manners (for me) to forfeit and refuse to learn and experience.
