Author: Mt. Healthy Mountaineer, your intrepid reviewer
Subject: ANHOW Review of Books: "Shrink Rap" & "Widow's Walk" by Robert B. Parker

Both books are published by G.P. Putnam's Sons
Both books were published in 2002
Both books are of the detective genre.

I'm going to review both of these books together since they are both very similar and very enjoyable. Parker disappointed me with his last outing, "Potshot", which I reviewed earlier on this forum. He hits a couple of homeruns with these books however. Both are detective novels, one with his very slowly aging Spenser, the other with his new character Sunny Randall, who is pretty much a female Spenser, except for the fact that she rarely punches anyone in the face. Some people would be disappointed, but I'm not - I like the Spenser books and the Randall books are just as enjoyable. Are these great works of fiction? No. But, they were quite enjoyable - literary candy, perhaps. If you have not yet read a Spenser book, pick out an early one at the library and enjoy yourself.

I give both books an "A"
