Here's the original question:

If the government decided that in the interest of national safety we should all be made to wear implants under our skin, computer chips that tagged us, what would you do?

Everyone, of course, will look at this issue from their own point of view.

A Jew might say, "Well, here we go again - first we're tagged, then we're dragged away to the camps." Why? His traditions teach him that this is what happens.

A Black man might say. "Its no different than is slavery times when slaves were branded so that everyone could keep track of their slaves." Why? His knows that this has happened before.

A military man might say that it is good because it helps put some order and structure to our society. Or, if he's had enough of order and structure he might say that it is bad because it imposes order and structure on our society. Why? He knows from experience what it is like to live his life as a number, easily categorized and located.

Likewise, a Christian might be reminded of the sign of the beast - his traditions teach that it is going to happen. Why would a Christian not look at things in a Christian context?

MVD - Must everything have some biblical basis? If he had just said, 'I wouldn't like it', then there would have been no "ball busting" as he put it.

Would that have fully answered your question? No way - we are a talkative group here, all of us - from A (Abba's Son) to X (Xanthor). I still think that his answer is perfectly legitimate.

Do I think that its the sign of the beast? No, but I'm not much into matters of prophecy. I prefer to let things play out without trying to spot "prophecy in action."

MVD - Beware the man of one book... beware the man of one book...

Abba's Son has shown some willingness to talk of other things, but what gets your goat more than any other is his reference to scripture. I'd be willing to bet that he does it just to get your goat - and man does he get it, too. He is an infrequent poster and may not have much of an interest in Howard or D&D or Dr. Who or nudes of Heather Graham or talking about Tristan/Perkie/Animal Liberty. After that, what else is there on this site?
