They include race matters, civil matters, police brutality and penal facility misconducts.

None of these are really a matter of government policy (esp. civil matters! What should we do - use mind control to make people conduct themselves in a proper manner?) but rather a mis-use or failure to enact the rules that exist.

Our government most certainly is corrupt in many aspects.

Of course it is! Its full of people and you know how I stand on the issue of people's basic honesty.

The issue (that I did not sidestep, but rather countered them with a few facts) was treaties that America has broken. This was in the original context of Sadaam's failure to comply with the cease-fire agreement of 1991. It started with a comment along the lines of "why should he follow his treaties when we don't follow ours?"

If you say that I reationalize or explain away everything this country has done that just shows that you don't know me all that well. After all, I am a history teacher - I know the warts on our country's face better than most.
