Subject: Offense/Defense

I am certainly a victim of defensiveness, just as I have offended many times, but here are my thoughts on the subject.

When a man becomes defensive about his belief, he expresses his doubt.

When a man is offended by another, he exposes his weakness.

When we are offended by a thing, we must ask ourselves why we reacted in such a way. The answer is always within us and has nothing to do with whatever was said. Most often our responses are conditioned and it is my opinion that if we wish to live lives other than Pavlov's dog, then we had better question our conditioned responses to see if they are valid or not, else we will foam at the mouth every time the bell rings and never question why.
