Subject: My apologies
In reply to: noha 's message, "all about double standard" on 06:21:14 03/21/03 Fri

Sorry for my rants--this subject is a bit delicate for a television program posting board. Thank you all for your perspectives, I enjoyed reading them, all valid points, respectively. We all know that our mother coutries tend to blind their own citizens to the truth behind the politics, and we Americans--or at least some of us, know that we are not the great "good doers" of the world, we know our nation usually has some alternate motive when "helping" a country--or citizens of another country. And I don't believe this invasion is strictly about removing Saddam or weapons. It's about oil, our President's status, and a good deal of revenge. And while I don't agree with that, I can't completely bash the movement ---Saddam and his family DO need to be taken out of power---I'm sure there ARE some in the world more evil than him--as NOHA said, but right now the focus is on him-- and I, like so many, hate the idea of violence--losing our men and women, killing other men and women--but again if our troops are there risking their lives I won't sit at home in my nice comfortable house far from danger --and say they're wrong. If left alone Saddam will only grow more powerful--and that is dangerousto us, his people, and the world.
