Subject: Ok Jael--I've formed a new opinion

I just read the EW interview w/SMG, and maybe just maybe I see her point now. I still think she can be a bitca--but this is my new perspective ---- She really didn't like last season. And in all honestly, while it really wasn't too difficult for me to watch, I can see how she would have resented the drastic change in Buffy's character. She enjoyed Buffy being strong--yet playful--fighting and rattling off quips. She said she complained to Joss and he told her she didn't get it because it was about being in your twenties and not knowing what you want--he said SMG always knew what she wanted. well, she thought it was more than that--she believed he turned Buffy into a dark heroine and she said she didn't think that was the path Buffy should've been on. And I see her point--many of the scenes in S6 were very un-Buffy-like. I enjoyed the more playful, witty side of Buffy. So, ok--I don't dislike her quite as much now--and I'm sure that was the intention behind this interview. I'm sure Joss isn't the easiest person to get along with--from what I've read anyway--and seeing as how she was the main character --I guess she would feel the strongest about change. Anyway--long story short--I don't hate her or resent her for leaving. I'm sure she'll sleep much better now.ha
