Subject: Ghost or No Ghost?

I am trying to find out if I have a ghost in my house or a sick person trying to scare me. I have only been in this house since June and there is some very weird things happening. Like things disappearing, never to appear but yet somethings have come back. I have heard the tapping or knocking on things at night. My room mate has heard someone calling out Mom. I got some water out of the fridge only to find chucks floating in it, only to be gone when we got home from work. If my room mate hadn't seen that, I would have thought I was going crazy. Neither one of us have seen anything, and our pets have only acted crazy once. A friday night when she was here by herself. I have been trying to find out anything and everything on ghosts. Like why do they take things or do they? How do they show themselves or how they communicate with us. How do we communicate with them? But so far I haven't had much luck with this. If anyone can give me some insight on this I would appreciate it. I am scared right now because I don't know what is going on and I have small children that I want to protect, but from what is the question. :( I have kept a diary of the things that has been happening if anyone would like to discuss this further. Thank you for any help that you can give me.
