You might want to check out the catacombs - underground burial place for all the victims of the Revolution. Their bones are stacked together, and it looks like and underground football field's worth. Might be something scary there.

Also, I could tell you about a personal experience I had, but you probably won't find it in a guide book, or book on French hauntings. I was during a high school trip when I was 15, and had a very bizarre experience. But no one knew of the haunting, so it probably isn't being written about. The French are not really into paranormal things, not like the English! If you want details of my experience, just email me and I'll give them to you.

Linda

There's a castle in the center of Narvonne, which is in the south of France. We picked up a lot of paranormal activity in the section of the castle which has not yet been refurbished. I do not believe that these spirits are ancient, however. There was some type of union-related squabble on this site around the turn of the century when a half dozen people were killed. Also, there is an Inn not far from there where we stayed. I think it was called the Paris Hotel, but I am not certain. All through the night we felt as if we were being watched, and in the morning, our luggage had been moved!

Check the sites at Normandy. Lots of blood and death there, bound to be stories...
