Well, the house could have been buit over a grave,a suicide site, another house in which some one died in that particular corner, " house in which someone had lived in then died(not in the house)and came back to live in,...
This could go on but it's not going to. I hope that it is a friendly spirit and that it doesn't bother you too much.
Oh, and if it does, check out how to get rid of the ghost on this website. :^)

I was told about a "haunting" in which people could see a baby floating along the path that had been in the house that previously stood there. This made no sense until this information came to light. The first house burnt down ,taking the life of the infant and of course, the "new" house was not lined up or of the same design as the first house.
