||...no one should be alone...||

Her mind whispered the phrase over and over again, and Eavan knew it was true. No one should be alone...

||But I am.||

She gazed down upon the fist with the jewel in it, wondering why a complete stranger even cared - but maybe they were alike, she and the stranger. Maybe they'd kindred spirits.
One never seemed to find those, they always came looking for you.

Eavan didn't open her hand, only looked at it. She'd never gotten a good look at what it was that'd been placed into her palm. Oh, she knew it was some sort of jewel - she could feel the many facets and the smooth texture of them, but that was as far as her knowledge went.

||I wonder...||

This could quite possibly be the only gift she'd gotten in a very long time. Well - within her memory, anyway.

She opened her palm and examined the little stone that lay there silently, glittering up at her, begging to be touched.

It was the most wonderful thing she'd ever received!

A little tear slid down her cheek, and the girl looked up to thank the woman - only to discover that she was gone.

"Thank you," she whispered into the silence.
