Carter may have been a lousy President, and I believe he was, but he's so frequently consulted and revered by the news media that people are just convinced that he knows all!
He's been quite earnestly involved in humanitarian projects over the years and I commend him for it. The thing is, hind-sight is 20/20 and he comes off as all-knowing about world affairs that almost any sharp political thinker could comment on with just as much authority. It bothers me that the news media focuses on him when they could be quizzing Bill Clinton, who had much more impact on the world as we know it and who is also more in touch. I also think he needs to get specific about some of our security problems that he was in charge of for 8 years. He's gotten off quite easy on this topic and I'll be honest, I think Clinton and his admin. were far better than the G.W. group we're stuck with now. My point is, ex-Presidents are directly responsible for what happens long after they're gone and I'd like to see some honest accountability and commentary from them.
