Kris

Hi my name is Kris and I'm glad to be a part of this supportive group.
(Just wish I didn't have to have these strange symptoms in order to join!)
I
am 30 years young and have a daughter who is 9.
My trouble started last year after spending the day in my flower garden.
My legs got real tired and achy. I just figured it was normal for someone
who doesn't do this stuff every day. Well, when I realized that I also had
large numb patches on my thighs, and it hurt to walk, I knew it wasn't
normal. Went to Dr. and was tested for lyme and had my hips x-rayed because
the pain started in hips and over the years I had had pain like this that
would come and go. (Usually after a lot of walking.) He also sent me for an
MRI of the lower lumbar region. (whatever that is!) The tests were normal
and
symptoms were gone after a week.
This year, in April, I had the same thing happen, except the pain got to
the point where it felt "icy/hot" and the only thing that brought it on was
a
long car ride (40 min. each way) in a friends car! I had also had muscle
weakness in my arms, cold feet/legs, a long history of near-fainting,
muscles twitching, and that's all that I can think of right now. So back to
Dr. and he asked me two questions. "Does anyone in your family have
Diabetes?"(yes) and "Does anyone in your family have MS?" (no) Well, I was
tested for Diabetes (negative) and had a Brain MRI with contrast.(Normal)
I have had more symptoms since then. Burning feet, electrical zapping in
both big toes and in finger tips, tingling in bottoms of feet (especially
when driving), strange sensations in lower legs (can't describe), burning in
left knee, lightheadedness, dizziness, etc... All of these symptoms come
and go except the burning feet seems to be staying with me.
I have an appointment with a neurologist on June 13th. I'm trying not to
get my hopes up after hearing about others experiences and am fully prepared
to hear him tell me to see a psychiatrist. I will immediately get up and
walk out.
~Kris~
