I hope I am doing this right. I've never posted on a forum before.........
MY STORY: I am a 32 y.o. female, married with two little boys.

The last week of March, 2000, I began to have lower back stiffness(which, for me,usually occurs after standing or walking a lot or during my period),but this time was just out of the blue. Two days later,my hands and the bottoms of my feet are numb and tingling and I trip over left foot several times. Go to my PCP, who refers me to a neuro and orders a brain MRI. Meanwhile, I start to have twitching of legs and hands in bed at night and increasing fatigue.
The neuro looks at the MRI results (normal), does a quick exam and says it's probably just carpal tunnel syndrome. I said, "Well, that doesn't explain my legs." Oh, that's probably from a problem in your lower back, he said.
A few days later, I start having weird sensations in my legs and arms like extreme coldness of one limb, or waves of warmth that feel like warm water washes over it. The numbness is also moving up my arms and legs. I'm also having twitches(small) and spasms(large) when I am falling asleep or already asleep, which cause me to awaken. Most worrisome, though is a difficulty with thinking/speaking. I can't find the words I'm looking for, stop midsentence and forget what i was saying, and using the wrong words.
(i.e. "Put it on your suitcase (dresser)" and "your shirt's all broken (wet)"
I call the neuro and relay all this to him and ask him if he still thinks it CTS. He says, "No, I should probably take another look at you." Well, that's all he did at the next appt, and basically told me it was probably from stress or maybe something wrong with the peripheral nerves. He asked me what I thought it might be and I said I am afraid it might be MS. He told me flat out, Well it's not because people with MS don't have MRI's like this. He also told me that he could tell I was not happy with him, so I should probably find another neuro. Which I gladly did
The new neuro is younger, slightly kinder, but still gave me the whole stress theory. He even wrote 'sensitive young woman' on my chart and underlined it! I am not neurotic, but I can see how someone coming in with all these bizarre complaints might appear to be. He at least told me that I could have MS, but he doubts it. He told me that my hyperreflexes are all over, so that's normal since I'm young.(Is that right?)
Anyway, he ordered a bunch of blood tests, but didn't do Lyme's because "most people in this area will test positive anyway" I live in Massachusetts. And an EMG which showed nothing unusual.
I can't believe I'm rambling on about this, but I feel like I have noone I can talk to about this except my husband, and I can't pile it all on him. Other symptoms include a feeling of vibrating/buzzing in head and limbs, occasional and quick waves of dizziness, stiffness/tightness in legs and lower back, mouth filling up with saliva for no reason, as well as messed up body temp---sweating profusely(I don't usually sweat) or trembling.
