Hi everyone!
Thanks for letting me join in here; it's comforting to know I'm not the only one who's frustrated by not getting any kind of diagnosis.
I started having problems a little over a year ago. I woke up one morning with that "fallen asleep" feeling in my right hand (only the outer two fingers), in my right foot, and on my right cheek. I also had been having sensitivity to hot and cold in the right side of my mouth, the dentist couldn't find anything wrong. I haven't had any gait problems, other than a few times when I heard my right foot hitting the pavement a little harder than the left, even though I didn't feel anything different. My right arm doesn't seem to swing back and forth the same way the left one does when I walk either. Anyway, my neuro. said NO WAY could I have MS (I was a little worried, knowing my mom's sister had it). After an MRI showed 5 lesions, he said it looks like MS; that was the opinion of the guy who read the films too. I was sent to an MS clinic, and had a negative spinal tap. So he says no MS, go home and relax. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I didn't get an MS diagnosis, but on the other hand I am really fearful of losing the use of my right hand. The numbness in my foot and face are nearly gone (it reappears in my foot after I walk alot) but my arm has gotten steadily worse. I take neurontin to help get me through the night, about half the time it still wakes me up and the pain is incredible until the feeling comes back.
On a personal note; I'm 39, and I have four kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. Hopefully I can learn more from this forum and get some answers!
Lizzy
