Joan - I believe a real doc would tell you "NO". The doc needs to look for the cause. I don't want to alarm you, but water retention like that can be a symptom of something nasty (heart problems, kidney problems, etc.) Btw, I used to tell people that I felt like a water balloon that was filled to the point of explosion. I gained about 70 lbs in just a few months. I got more stretch marks from that than from either of my pregnancies (and I had gestational diabetes the 2nd time around). You make think this really odd, but I loved the prednisone so much, I didn't want to go off of it in spite of my size. I would feel like Superman a couple of times a day and I miss that sensation more than you can imagine. I'm pretty long-winded right now, and I feel myself going off in some weird direction, so I'll sign off. Call your doc, really, and I hope it's nothing serious.
