Subject: NO MS, I guess- MRI results!

I'm in as much sock as you are, but for once it feels good!

When I went in and my doc said that there hadn't been any postive results on my tests, I thought it would be another let down. Then he said there were findings on my MRI (I'm thinking lesions).

I have a ruptured disk, and several protruding disks and a spot that could be compressing a nerve in my neck. This could explain the weakness, incontinence, spasms, numbness, tingling, headaches, neck pain, etc!!

It is also scary though; he is sending me to a new neuro for a myeleogram (SP?) and evoked potentials to see if this is to blame. The scary part is that I may have to have surgery, but scarier is the thought that if I can't I may just have to live with this! He suggested physical therapy (which he can do), exercise which I am doing by swimming almost daily, and maybe traction (YUCK!).

He also wants me to see an endocrinologist b/c I have little black hairs growing on place on my chest, neck, chin, etc. Needless to say, not noraml for a 22 yr old. I wanted to see one 2 yrs ago, but my doc did not think it was warented. Maybe this will explain the rest of my symptoms.

So there it is and now you know! I'm not sure if I like this better or not. On one hand I may be able to cure it and live a normal life, on the other I may just be stuck like this. Not a good thought, but for now I have hope.

I'm not 100% sure yet b/c of the lesion on my brain, but I'll ask the new neuro about that. Thank you all for your support and prayers. I hope I can still come here to provide and get support since we have a lot in common!
