I'm sure you are either crying or boiling with anger right now, but I FEEL ANGRY ENOUGH FOR BOTH OF US!!!

I'm angry b/c I have been there; I know what it is like to go in and lay your problems on the table only to have an insensitive doctor smash them into more problems! I've been to 3 docs and the last 2 acted like my mind was at least partially to blame. Now if it was just a matter of obtaining another referal that would be easy, but you've got deal with the loss of money AND worse (to me) the emotional damage!!

My second neuro spent all of 3 minutes examing me AND the MRI then was ready to send me through the door. I demanded a spinal tap which she did, but she did not test for the IgG index like I told her too!! (she should have known anyway!!!) The last neuro managed to put the words "possible MS" and Somatization/Conversion Disorder" in the same sentence. Then he sent me on my way telling me to come back if i had more symptoms (Yea right!! Come back to be slandered again!!)

I have not been back to a neuro since Nov of 98.I'd be lying if I said that part of it wasn't b/c I am scared about what (s)he would say. I don't want to be just dismissed again and waste money. Overall, I know I will go back, but it still scares me a little.

I think maybe there should be a "blacklist" for neuros as well as the "clams" list. No one deserves to be totally ignored like that. We understand; I think all of us have been through this. I hope you can shrug it off and find a new neuro. Smoetimes that can be the hardest thing, but it also may be all that is needed for a diagnosis. Don't let this jerk keep you in limbo and w/o a doctor. You are welcome to come here and call him whatever name you find necessary to feel better. Get it out and move on!
