To win a Gold Cup the horse needs to have shown a bit of claas recently, otherwise you can easily discount it. Even Norton's Coin had shown useful previous form that season, and everyone now admits it was well over the odds!
As for Just Jasmine being 'targeted', isn't that the hope of every owner who has a chaser?
The horse has proved a little one-paced, and is not a good jumper, and that would be a major problem at Cheltenham, never mind a Gold Cup. He also has around a stone improvement to find before being a serious contender.
He's finished behind horses like CYFOR MALTA & TRESOR DE MAI lately, and you have to ask yourself, would they win a Gold Cup?
