Well it seems to me that this board died a long time ago, though I still have the urge to post something. Even if I am just talking to myself... Where should I start?
First off, what's with all the Avril fans calling the others jealous? That's all I've been reading. I'm not going to go into anything like, "Why would I be jealous of that ugly whore?" No no, that's not my syle ^_~ I will respect Avril Lavign for her music. I'll also respect her style, whether it be punk or not. But I don't understand how she can call herself punk. For all I know Avril Lavign could listen to "real punk." But just for her to call her own music punk... That makes no sense to me. Now I'm totally aware that there is no such thing as a dictionary for labels (punk, goth, prep). Still, people over the years have developed common names used to refer to clothes, music, and other human beings. And especially with such strict "rules" for the punk scene, I'd say that Avril does not fit into it, but rather the prep scene.
The reason I'm having such a hard time explaining myself is because I'm not the type to use such labeling words. I actually hate them. But my point is, is that Avril is not being herself. I respect any singer for who they are in their career; whether they're punk, goth, prep, rapper... Whatever. If Avril lavign could sing her pop music and dress her punk way, and still say she's pop, then I'd have no problem with her. I just wish she'd realize (thought I'm sure she does) that her music is not punk.
Oh, and one last note just so you guys don't flame me with fake punk and Britney Spears messages: I don't like punk or Britney's music. I in fact hate all American music. So naa!! Nothin you can do ^___^ Woo. I'm out ^_~v
