Subject: The difference is c/i
In reply to: 's message, "boy 10 -13 is a big age difference there is no way a 10 can compete with 13 almost 14. it looks like the winners were all the older girls" on 02/ 9/10 6:05:41pm

girls like Caitlyn Kent can wear straight Miss USA gowns that show every curve and fancy arm flowy things (not sure what they call that) and she looked stunning to say the least, but a 10 year old like Emily or other little ones could not wear something like that if there lives depended on it. And Emily looking beautiful as well. But you CANNNOT judge the two in the same group for Beauty or CW, completely different maturity level. If Michael had used the same judges all the way thru the competition, I think the outcome would have been much different as the Beauty and CW judges could have heard the girls that look like they are 18 sound like a typical 12 or 13 year old and score them much differently in the remainder of the competition. My daughter was one of the tiny ones and scored 2nd in interview but was in the middle for beauty and CW. So perhaps if the interview judges were judging the rest, the outcome may have been much different. We are very excited at the final outcome and she had an awesome interview! If only pageants would not go by age and change it to height, then perhaps it would seem more "fair" if you will. But then again nothing in life ever seems fair. If you want fairness, then I guess pageants isn't the place for you....lol... We will be back next year, had a great time.
