I agree that the reasons for doing the film need to be the right ones, but also, because of that, i think the mythos could extend into any area. The whole rap/hip hop scene can be really dark, urban, and since we know they're too scared to try anything REALLY new, it could possibly be done well. But they need someone to write and direct who really loves the Crow, who knows a lot about it. Who has read, and felt James' pain. And i think the biggest problem is that they wont find someone out there who will do that. The other problem is that each Crow is a white, 20 something, good looking male. Being hip/hop, they might make it a black guy, but i bet he's still 20 something with the "perfect" body. The only times we'll see anything other than that is in the books and comics, because they can take risks that filmmakers wont take. So i believe the hope is in the comics and novels. And it's sad, i mean, they've made three Crow films, so any more and it will become like Nightmare on Elm Street, or Rocky. And in those three, they could have really done some amazing films if they had been willing to take risks, but instead, the first one worked, so they made a replica, and the third looks to be the same.

Ah, i'm just ranting anyway.
