This is just all ridiculous! Simply because I do not agree that a pet sitter boarding goes against everything we "sell" ourselves as pet sitters does not mean I hate anyone, or that I'm paranoid & haven't I certainly haven't insulted anyone. If anything, I'm getting flamed.
When Becky recently emailed me personally for advice & forms on horse siting, I sent her every form I had & answered all her questions.
I refer people on a weekly sometimes daily basis to other pet sitters in the area & to an exceptional kennel in town. My biz is extremely busy (this being the last "lite" day for 2 weeks (daughter/partner doing AM sit today)--have 5 horse clients/day & 9 small pets for the next 2 weeks & booked through the end of July) I'm not threatened by the idea of boarding. As a pet sitter I'm rarely home & out taking care of other people's pets during the day. When I come home, I want to give attention to my own animals. I just don't see how you can board pets & give them the proper attention if you are away from home pet sitting.
There are lists that address boarding issues & questions. I just don't think a pet sitters list is the place to address boarding questions. That is my opinion, not a flame & I'm certainly not alone in my thinking according to two other boards.
I wish Becky all the luck & success possible. Please let's stop this silliness.
