Oh I don't know Patti. Kennels where we live are very concerned about contagious diseases. A serious outbreak can put them out of business. While cats aren't routinely tested for communicable diseases, a kennel will check with a vet before accepting to guarantee health. That is about all they can do until there is a vaccine for these diseases. Most kennels will keep cats separate from other cats unlike dogs where they are close to each other seperated by wire. And most cat owners who board are concientious enough to either have health cats or inform the kennel of diseases. The negligent cat owners never bother with boarding or hiring a sitter, money is a key factor here.
